View (2)
Faster Attachments IV Abilities reload faster. PowerPyx gives 200% faster at level IV. Level IV is shown in the source; PowerPyx describes Legendary parts as gold Level 4 parts, so this tier is probably Legendary, but no source labels this specific part's rarity.

Rarity, levels & part slots

Rarity Reported

Legendary is confirmed by the trophy text ('Have 4 Legendary Parts installed simultaneously') and PowerPyx, which describes Legendary parts as gold Level 4 parts. Parts appear in four levels (I-IV) in PowerPyx part names, and Wolf's Gaming Blog says parts come in rarities and can be upgraded to higher rarities. The names Rare and Epic come only from the August CBR multiplayer preview (Base Bet gives three Parts including one Rare, High Bet four including one Epic, All In five including one Legendary). The name of the lowest tier (Level 1) was not found. Mapping Rare/Epic to Levels 2/3 is not stated anywhere.

Part slots Reported

Up to four parts can be fitted at once and can be swapped, except Faulty parts, which cannot be replaced until repaired. The Gadgeteer Favor leaves room for additional parts (amount unknown).

The four-slot number is stated only by Wolf's Gaming Blog; it fits the trophy requirements of 4 Legendary and 4 Faulty parts and Hibi's four-part stock (PowerPyx), but no major outlet states the slot count directly. No named slot categories (engine, etc.) were found; parts seem to be generic passive perks.

Sources (2)

Total parts in the game: About 300 (reported: 'near 300' in a post-launch beginner guide; earlier interviews said 300+) Reported

Sources for the part count (4)

Parts are listed by name as published by the sources. Roman numerals (I-IV) are part levels shown in some sources; a level is not the same as a rarity unless a source says so. Effects are paraphrased; numbers are only shown where a source gives them for a specific level.

Faults

A fault is a negative effect attached to a part. It is a state, not a rarity tier.

Leaky Tank

Fault that made Afterburner fuel refill 200% slower until repaired; it appeared on the writer's Fuel Vortexer II part. Game Rant believes the fault type is random rather than tied to how damage was taken.

Single major-outlet example (Game Rant). No other fault names have been published by a reliable source yet.

Credits, shops & upgrades

Upgrade Pack price
Hibi's Shop sells an Upgrade Pack for 1,500 Credits; you pick one stat upgrade from three random options.
Sources (2)
Upgrade size
Upgrades raise a stat by +1 or sometimes +2. Fan Club Favor can give a +2 Upgrade Pack.

+1/+2 observation from Game Rant; Fan Club from IGN.

Sources (2)
Upgrades between events
After events you normally choose one upgrade point from three random options; Eliminator races give two. Reported

Wolf's Gaming Blog only for the Eliminator detail.

Sources (1)
Stat cap
Stats max at level 10 within a tour (trophy 'The Real Soul of Racing': max two upgrades in one tour). Spending permanent points at tour start can put two stats at level 7. Reported
Sources (1)
Vehicle stats
Stats named: Speed, Cornering, Afterburner, Resilience, Ramjet, Battery, and a vehicle-specific cornering stat (Drift on the Landspeeder; Kinetic Burst seen on the Speeder Bike).

Count conflict: Game Rant says eight stats but lists seven; IGN lists six upgradeable stats (no Speed).

Sources (3)
Tuning Points
Permanent currency kept between tours; unlocks the Speeder Bike (10 TP) and Skim Speeder (20 TP) and buys permanent stat upgrades. IGN: each base stat can be raised up to 15 times. Scenarios award Tuning Points (PowerPyx says 10).

Vehicle prices from PowerPyx (also repeated by allthings.how).

Sources (3)
Hibi's Shop
Visited at the start of each planet. Stocks four Parts plus stat and ability packs; a restock costs 250 Credits and fully re-rolls the parts. Parts can also be upgraded here: an equipped Level 3 part can be upgraded to Legendary.

Restock price from GamesRadar only; four-part stock and Level 3 upgrade from PowerPyx only.

Sources (2)
Scrap Dealer
Ori and Per, a two-headed alien pair found on each planet, repair faults. Scrap Dealer map nodes (from Act 2) sell 3 Legendary parts that come with faults, 1,000 Credits each, and can also repair faults.

Names Ori and Per from Game Rant. 1,000-Credit price and 3-part stock from PowerPyx only (reported).

Sources (3)
Fault repair cost
Repairing a fault costs 2,000 Credits (as observed so far). Unknown whether cost scales with part quality.
Sources (2)
How faults happen
Critical Malfunctions can give an equipped part a fault (a negative effect). Hitting the perfect-recovery window in the recovery minigame prevents it. Faults can also come from some Mystery Encounters and from Scrap Dealer parts. Faulty parts cannot be swapped out or overwritten until repaired.

Trophy 'Hunk of Junk' needs a win with at least 4 Faulty Parts.

Sources (4)
Legendary parts sources
Legendary (gold, Level 4) parts come from Scrap Dealer nodes, some Mystery Encounters, or upgrading an equipped Level 3 part at Hibi's Shop. Reported
Sources (1)
Parts are temporary
Parts and stat upgrades last only for the current tour and are lost when the run ends. Racer Styles, Favors and Tuning Point upgrades persist.
Sources (2)
Abilities
9 base abilities (Concussion Mine, Vent, Shockwave, Status Scrubber, Ion Bolt, Ion Blast, Shield, Autopilot, Surge). Max level 3 via Ability Packs. Up to 4 abilities plus 1 Crash Ability can be equipped. Reported
Sources (1)
Day-one patch
The official patch notes page says no patch has been released yet (checked 2026-10-07). No parts changes from a launch patch were found.
